Mywot.com has committed Libel Defamation of Character against pithyus.com.

Libel is a published or fixed form of defamation of character; a civil wrong that falsely impugns the reputation or character of a person or entity, opening the target up to public scorn or ridicule.

On December 13, 2009, Mandrake09 posted a blatant lie stating that pithyus.com sent spam and he has used this site as his reference.

Several users of pithyus.com, including myself, have visited the attack site and posted true, positive comments in hopes of reversing the damage. Mywot.com not only deleted the positive comments, they also banished these users from their site!

What is W.O.T.? The following is from mywot.com.

"Protect yourself from online scams, sites with adult content, spam and other Internet threats. The WOT community has rated millions of websites so you can search, shop online and surf for fun without worrying. Get WOT now!"

It is supposed to be a site that rates other websites for our protection. In theory this isn't a bad idea, but when abused it can be terrible.

With over 200,000 unique visitor a month, Mywot.com is very influential. PC users who may benefit from pithyus.com are being deterred by Mandrake09's untrue statements and W.O.T. is to blame.
